Our local fire company had their Open House yesterday. We worked really hard to prepare for it. We planned for 100 kids, figured we'd only get fifty and got waaaaay more than that...... we ran out of crafts after two hours. We had to make two runs for food in addition to the food we already had bought. For the first three hours, it was wild! There was so much going on, we didn't even think about how exhausted we were. The first three pics were from the fire company website. We had story time with a firefighter and a local clown also gave presentations on fire safety.

Aeriel Lift rides...... very popular!

Nicole's friend, Nia, also helped with the fire safety house.

Day at Hershey PA

Lexi pretending to nap on the way to Hershey......

Hmmmm.....but is she REALLY sleeping?

We got up to Hershey Chocolate World after maneuvering aound the Hershey Complex parking lots. They claimed the regular lot was full so we ended up parking in Arkansas....well, it felt like that far away anyway! We had to walk awhile to catch a tram which took us there. We got to the building to get in this long line that didn't seem to be moving. They suddenly moved everyone into a que line. We thought it was really weird. We had always been able to walk right in and get right on the ride and suddenly we were in a long line that didn't seem to move. That was when we discovered that the ride was broken down. We stood in line for awhile and the kids were really thirsty and then we heard it could be a half hour to hour wait so we decided to get out of line, find a water fountain and look around for awhile. Found this large Hershey Bar and took a pic before putting it back. It was a dentist's dream! (or worst nightmare....LOL)

Finally we made our way back and discovered the ride was fixed so we got back into line and soon were on the ride.

Outside of the Giant Center where we had to park.

Well, we found our way out of the parking complex...... legally? I really don't know but we got out......
Headed for Zoo America after a quick turn (so quick the turn Nicole may have whiplash :D) into a Turkey Hill for batteries and water. Arrived at the zoo for our tour.

These pics didn't get great but Mama Bobcat had kittens and they were sooooo cute! We were pondering what would happen if we took one home with us, turned it loose outside and dared the neighbor to try and trap that! (like he threatened to do to our cat that we gave to a friend to protect her!)

Unusual but intelligent looking creatures..... LOL

There were wolves and bear but I could get nowhere near the bear to get pics and the wolves pics didn't tun out..... it was also too far away.

Later at home, Tyler and I had a foot war...... I can't believe how strong he is!

Nicole has been getting headaches whenever she pulled her hair back into a ponytail so she asked if it could b cut. You can see where she forgot to put suntan lotion on the first day of bandcamp. Really hurts her!
Norm had two teeth removed yesterday. It was interesting what he said coming out of anesthesia. Both he and I were surprised at the stuff that came from his mouth and some of the stuff he did. And he has no memory saying/doing any of it.
My two youngest have been going to a VBS at a local church and tomorrow night is Family Night with food, a concert, magic and I heard a movie. First I have to get some medical tests done and then pick up some corn at mil's.

Hello!

I decided to try this and see how I liked it. I had started this a fe months ago, got frustrated with the html and let it go for awhile. Decided to come back and figure it out. I got most figured it...... just can't figure out how I got such a big header...... or how to fi it. Guess I will have to play with the html some more.

I had always had my writing ones here but I haven't had time for them much lately either.

Well, enjoy. I will try and work on moving some of my posts from the old blog to here as I can but I know I won't get them all!

As we enter August............

It's going to be a busy month for us.  The week will be busy enough!  This Monday I will have my nephews.  Tuesday I go to the doctor for a check up and stuff for my job.  My mom would also like me to come and pick their green beans since they are on vacation.  On Wednesday Norm gets his teeth removed.  All week Nicole has band camp....and all next week as well.  My two youngest wish to go to a local VBS this week. On Saturday I have Worship Team practice for Sunday's service.  I may also have 4 dozen ears of corn to cut and freeze.

The next week is Nicole's band camp plus I have a Women's picnic on Wednesday and a Booster Meeting on Thursday.  Norm also has a Frat meeting on Thursday and on Friday night is Parent's night at Band Camp.  There is also kindergarten orientation in there somewhere.....

The following week is Nicole's freshman orientation, two days to tour the high school and Spirit Night with the band.

Our schools start the last Monday in August...although Lexi only goes about 90 minutes the first day......

We have yet to get soccer schedules for Lexi or Tyler......

There is an Open House at Norm's fire house our booster is working on this month too.

And somewhere in there I need to finish school shopping although I have most of stuff now.... plus shirts for my job.  Speaking of which, I heard a rumor there may be a p/t opening coming up but am waiting on confirmation on that before letting them know I am interested.

I feel tired just thinking about it!

While I am at it, I would like to promote my friend, Janet, who recently published her first book which I have not had a chance to read yet.....I knew her waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when she was voted the quietest in our high school class.  In fact I knew her since elementary school.  We didn't go to the same elem. school but ran into each other at other places.   Janet, kudos on your book!
